American Idol Tryouts in San Francisco, CA. on Jan 20, 2009, Summary of Episode 3
By Marcus Check out our extensive news articles on American Idol at AmericanIdolHeadlines.com American Idol held tonight’s auditions in my favorite city, San Francisco. First up was a very nervous,
giggly, and overly dramatic R & B singer named Tatiana Del Toro performing
“Never Loved a Man.” Her personal psychic predicted that she would make it into the top 12 and
somehow she cajoled three judges to give her that opportunity. Giggle on,
Tatiana, but you will need talent to make it through week one in A special events producer whose business collapsed, Dean Bradford failed to make it into the music business when he slaughtered “Stars.” “Unchained Melody” was performed by Jesus Valenzula as he sang to his children in the audition room. Yup, the judges were so impressed with his love for his two young sons, they told him “invite ‘em in” and he did. He won a golden ticket. What a family effort, Jesus. Being a professional Rubik Cube puzzle solver didn’t help Dalton Powell squeaking “Ohh Baby Baby.” He sounded very similar to a rusted door hinge on a windy afternoon. Studying vocal anatomy was of no help to an aggressive Akilah Askew Gholston who sang her original song “Make Sweet Love.” Perhaps she needs to re-title is as “Make Me Stop Singing” as it was soo bad. She then insulted Paula to the point where she walked off from the panel. But that didn’t deter Akilah who tried to convince the judges that she was the real diva. She isn’t and never will she be such. I could go on, but she has had her 10 seconds of exposure and that was more than sufficient. Jazz singer Annie Murdoch plays violin and piano but failed to move the judges into winning a ticket with “Summertime.” She just didn’t have the vocal strength for such a powerful son. Singing in musical theater since age 10, Adam Lambert wowed the judges with “Bohemian Rhapsody.” He effortlessly won a golden ticket. I predict that he will be a major contender as the show progresses. The final singer was Kai Kalama who performs at night while caring for his ailing mother during the day. His rendition of “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” is already prime for release. His voice was that good. But he does not exhibit stage excitement. He needs to work on that because he won for himself and for his mother a golden ticket. And that wraps up tonight’s
auditions from Links to my other summaries: Episode 1 and Episode 2. Click here to get to more American Idol Links to news and information on AmericanIdolHeadlines.com Check out many of the American Idol contestants CD's from all seasons here!
