Tonight the last two standing singers compete for the American Idol Title.
Will it be Kris Allen or Adam Lambert? Going into tonight’s performances, Allen has the edge with his raw powerful talent combined with a his “hold no hostage” stage presence while Kris has good vocal skills with a softer gentler disposition. But how will they do tonight knowing that everything is on the line? Here is my recap written just for you.
Walking into the swirling knee deep fog like a mysterious haunting night stalker, Adam Lambert gave a brilliant tingling performance of “Mad World.” Dressed completely in black to include a black flower pinned on his long dark overcoat lapel, his raven hair just set him apart from all the others and marks him as a unique talent. After weeks of trying to measure the depth of Kris Allen, tonight we finally saw him make a real intense emotional connection with the audience with “Ain’t No Sunshine.” Kris was again sitting safely behind his grand piano, almost as if it were a lacquered and string security blanket, but he opened some doors into his being. Maybe he finally decided that his inner child is available for sharing with us. Whatever happened, he finally and none too soon made contact with his audience. And, he is definitely in this to win. There is just something exceptional about Adam Lambert and that something was there to be seen and to be heard with “Change Is Gonna Come.” He attacks the high notes with a full force frontal assault and then reels it back in like a big game fisherman. He plays with the notes as easily as a child plays catch. But what a beautiful way to play has Adam. And his face…..he has eyes of the jungle tiger and the snarl of the deep river canyons. Whether he is crowned American Idol or not, Adam Lambert has a career in front of him that will not be stopped. Call 1 -866 436 5701 / 03 / 05 to vote for Adam.
For the last performance, both singers performed “No Boundaries” which was co-written by Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi. Adam’s version again explains just how original of an artist he really is. He has found his own special take on music and is not satisfied with just being outstanding, but wanting to make every song his own. And he did with “No Boundaries.” Adam is a star and is ready to fill auditoriums and sell CDs across the nation. Kris’ version was less memorable with some missed high notes and it seemed that the song just wasn’t in the proper pitch for his vocal range. It was not his best.
So that is it. We have listened, watched and voted until we are down to these final two finalists: Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. They deserve your votes and they need your support as you make the final decision of whom will be crowned American Idol. Remember tonight you will have 4 hours to vote for who you want to win American Idol.
At the closing of the show we were treated to Carrie Underwood singing "Home Sweet Home".
